It's funny how your life can be completely normal and then four days later - WHAM - something happened.
Nothing tragic happened to me, though. In fact, it was the best thing that's every happened to me. Ever.
Four days after I made that post about Edgar Wright, I actually met him.
I'll allow this time for you to collect your thoughts.
Yeah...I met one of my heroes.
Whaaa?
How awesome is that? I wrote a huge blog on it on myspace, so I'll put it on here too. In fact, I got the pleasure to meet Joe Dante as well who was an early inspiration on me.
But it was...incredible. It was the best moment of my life. Edgar is someone I truly admire, and being able to meet and talk to him was more than I ever thought would happen.
For those of you unfamiliar with his name, I'm positive you're familiar with his work. He's the director of Spaced and director/writer of both "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz".
Yeah, it was amazing, for lack of a better word.
Oh..and, also....
DAVID COOK, FTW!!!
Tomorrow I'm going to the Bamboozle music festival.
To be quite honest, I'm nervous about it. I've heard of maybe five or six bands out of all the bands in the line up. And I can actually stand about two or three.
In short, it's not really my "scene". You know, I'm a classic rock fan. But I can never go a classic rock music festival because most of my favorite musicians are either dead, dying, or recluses. So that really wouldn't work out.
My friend wants me to go, so I'll go. I'm just keeping an open mind and it could be an education of sorts.
As of right now, I'm watching the Fuzzball Rally on the "Hot Fuzz" three-disc special edition. If this featurette was a person, I'd most likely marry it.
Edgar Wright is an extremely good looking man. To me, anyway. I think a lot of people would just call him an English poof.
That picture made me fall in love with him.
I have odd taste in men.
Finally.
I've had this journal since summer of 2007 and now I finally post something.
Unfortunately, I have nothing of great importance to say.
Well, I just saw "10,000 B.C.". It's pretty much awesome in a crappy sort of way.
Apparently Mammoths were used to build the Great Pyramids.
Hmm...
